This is a smart device. It’s not cheap in terms of build cost vs retail price, but you’re paying for the idea and the design, not for the materials. It works to lock in stick positions, and by design it easily “collapses” (no damage) so you can do stick override for any emergency, and it stays as good as new. You can customize the “stickiness” of the lock via any silicone tubing. I recommend this product, and this vendor.
